How to choose your broker

The concept of building brokers has become increasingly popular over the past five years. As a result, new so-called brokers have been springing up all over Perth.

Healthy competition is good for the broking industry, and offers clients a choice. But please choose your broker carefully. Some so-called independent brokers are closely allied to a limited number of building companies. Others operate from PO Boxes and use their cars as their office. Many do not have an in-house design service, and rely on outside resources for these important services. And beware of those who claim their services are free; they’re not.

So make sure you do your homework before you choose your broker.

The RCI Story

RCI Building Brokers was started in 2005 by its current director, Michael Pascoe. For 14 years, Michael worked for Perth’s biggest project builder; but knew there must be a better, more cost-effective and quicker way of doing things.

RCI Building Brokers has been operating for almost 6 years making us one of the longest-established and most experienced building brokers in the state. In that time, we’ve worked with over 200 clients and designed and built more than 85 projects in Perth and the surrounding areas. Over 50 new projects are currently under construction.We’re members of the Housing Industry Association and the Building Designers Association, and our staff have a combined experience of over 70 years in the industry.

We work from our North Perth premises and have in-house designers, draftsmen and building advisors.No project is too small, or too big. We work with all budgets and have homes available from as little as $150,000. At the other end of the scale, we’ve worked with builders who’ve constructed $5,000,000 mansions, developments with 60 units and even high-rise buildings. We are not affiliated with any building company. In fact, we regularly request tenders from a pool of over 300 trusted and professional small builders; and work regularly with a select list of 40.
