How RCI works
At RCI, we take on the administration, design and approval roles normally handled by the administration department of a big building company. Our personalised services covers all aspects of the project from the initial site survey through to completion. Here are the steps involved.
Step One
Your RCI consultant will meet you to discuss your project, budget and timelines. We’ll show you some similar projects that we have designed and constructed. We’ll then survey your block and carry out a soil assessment. Then it’s on to the fun part.
Step Two
You’ll then meet with our in-house designer to discuss your requirements. Every project we work on is custom-designed from the ground up to your exact requirements so there’s absolutely no compromise. This means you can have your perfect, dream design without the added expense of an architect. Our draftsmen draw up the plans. At this stage, you’re welcome to make adjustments and changes at no extra cost. We can show you some of the 130 projects we’ve handled - so you can assess for yourself the quality of the design and the workmanship. You can see a selection of our plans here. [Link to Projects + Plans] We have interior design, décor and landscaping consultants available to our clients if you’d like a complete design service.
Step Three
We submit your plans to the local council or shire for a building licence and, if required, planning approval.
Step Four
We prepare a tender document for your project including full specifications for all the materials involved, and then invite selected builders to quote its construction. We only use builders who are right for the job and with whom we have an existing relationship. The tendered prices will vary between 10% and 15% from each other – which is why the tender process is vital on every job. Should you need help with finance, we have affiliations with experienced lenders. We receive no payment or commissions from outside suppliers we might recommend to you.
Step Five
You and your RCI broker choose the right builder at the right price. We’ll introduce you, show you some of their work, and speak with their previous clients. When you’re happy with the choice of builder, construction then starts. If you have any problems during the construction period, RCI will be on hand to solve them and to liaise between you and the builder.
